Birthday Adventure … I Love my Life

Hey Everyone!

So today is my Birthday! Yeah, that’s right, I have an awesome Birthday. Beings that I had the day off (not enough work for me to stick around the rest of the week, so yeah I get a few days off), I got to go do something fun for my Birthday!. I went out into the Columbia River Gorge! I got to stop at the Portland Women’s Forum, and take some pictures of the Vista House and the Columbia River, before continuing on to the Vista House itself, and lastly going to Multnomah Falls.

It is a beautifully clear, but windy and cold winter’s day here in the beautiful Portland metro area. The roads are also generally dry in this part of the metro area at the moment, so Icy roads weren’t a problem.

I had bought myself an Iphone a few days ago, and upgraded from the basic phone I had had for a bit over two years now. It was fun being able to snap some pictures on that, and be able to upload them to the Facebook Page and Instagram while I was out on the adventure. I still have some more pictures to add to the Facebook Page that I took on my new camera, as this was its trial run, but that will be done here in a bit.

After having seen some pictures that a friend of mine had taken yesterday, as she, her husband, aunt and uncle had gone out there, it made me want to go, so I was toying with the idea, and then my Mom had a similar idea, so my Mom, Dad, and I all went out to Crown Point and Multnomah Falls together.

I am happy that we had a nice enough day here in the Portland area, and had the day off so that i could fit one more adventure in this year. I had remembered to grab Winnie the Pooh and Tigger at the last minute, so I stuck them in my purse and they came on this adventure with my parents and I.

Winnie the Pooh and Tigger started going on adventures with me, back in 2011 when I went to New York. It started out as something to take with me from Home, to remind me of Home ,but then turned into something more and they became adventure buddies. i am trying to take them on as many adventures as possible and see where all they can go with me, and take pictures of them at different spots & Landmarks when I am on adventures.

Winnie the Pooh and Tigger have been to Canada twice, the beach several times, New York once, This is their second trip to the Gorge. It is fun to see the passage of the seasons and all the places I go, with them.

Going on adventures, even short ones, like I did today is what I live for. I love being outdoors, even when it is freezing cold (and it was like 30 degrees Fahrenheit out in the area of Crown Point and Multnomah Falls), and windy as all get out it is still amazing. I get up and go to work so that I can be able to go and do stuff like this on my days off, and then be able to document it and share it will you all. I will put a couple of the pictures I took down below, but there are many more over on the Adventure is my Middle Name Facebook Page.

New Adventure Gear

Hey Everyone!

Today I was able to go and get myself a new digital camera, beings that I had broken the one that I had this past summer. I got myself a Sony DSC – W800.

I am hoping to take it on its inaugural adventure in a couple weeks. I am also hoping that in 2015 I will be able to get out a bit more on weekends, and go more places. I know that it may be hard at times, beings that I work full time and have food intolerances, but I don’t want the latter to hold me back from some amazing adventures.

This month I have been able to add to my adventure gear, with the REI Flash 22 pack I had purchased on Black Friday, and now a camera for photos and vlogging.

My current job, is a good entry level job, especially since the economy is still tough for the millions of Americans who are out of work. I am thankful for having a full time job, that pays more than minimum wage, and has benefits. It is for now a temporary job, while I am working on a specific project for the company I work for. I am thankful that I have been able to purchase more gear, and I am hoping over the next several months, to however long my job lasts, I am going to work on saving money, so that can have something to fall back on, be able to move for a new job, or take adventures on.

I am excited to be able to plan more adventures that would take me further away from home, that will be becoming a reality is an amazing prospect. I am excited for these adventures, and being able to blog and vlog about them for you all.

I want to thank those of you, who have stuck with my blog through the times of lean content due to lack of being able to take adventures. I have greater plans for myself, the adventures I want to take, and for this blog.

Adidas Diablo Small Duffle Bag

I own two Adidas Diablo Small Duffle Bags. I had purchased my first one while I was in college, when I needed something small to pack clothes in for weekends at my parents house. Once I had gotten my first real apartment, all the clothes and such that I actually wore and used moved with me, so I really had nothing that actually fit or that I would wear left at their house. Thus, needing something that I could pack enough clothes for Saturday (which was pretty much just another shirt from the one  I wore up on Friday), church clothes and shoes for Sunday morning, underwear, socks, Pajama’s and maybe some toiletries if it had been a while since my last visit and I had forgotten what I had left at their house, or stuff that I used at home, but knew I wouldn’t have left at my parents house.

These Diablo small duffle bags were the perfect thing for the weekend trips to the parents house. Enough room to fit the necessities, without over packing.

I would just pack the clothes and toiletries that I would need, grab my phone and Ipod chargers, stick my Ipod and my phone in my purse and hit the road.

If you were to ask me today, would I buy even one of these again, I would tell you, most definitely. I have gotten so much use out of both of them it isn’t even funny. I still have the first one I bought around somewhere (even though I think it is packed away in a box). It has gotten a good 3+ years of regular use, and wear, the second one is the one I still have out, and use regularly as well. I have taken one with me both trips to Canada (in addition to the Marmot 35L backpack), as well as on other trips.
